Octagon and Back Again
This home’s master bath held a recessed, octagon-shaped bath tub in which you had to step down for both the shower and the tub. All the floors and walls were finished in acrylic which presented a major safety hazard because it was extremely slick.
There were many reasons for the bathroom update: the windows were old and the argon gas had leaked causing major moisture problems, the tub leaked causing safety issues, the look and style of the bathroom was outdated and the owners wanted a shower and a jacuzzi tub with an updated look and feel, all while keeping the architectural integrity of the octagon shape and matching the house facade.
After assessing the situation, Jason and the Star Builders team determined that by extending the bathroom space 2+ feet to the outdoor soffit space there would be enough room to grant all of the homeowner’s request. No problem!
As you can see in the video the change to the outside of the house is invisible and flawless, as any addition should be. The octagon shape was kept intact, and the paint and windows match exactly. Seamless.
The result is that the bathroom has a larger, more comfortable layout. The focal point is a window-view jacuzzi and shower that is breathtaking. Custom tile is installed throughout the bath and we suggested a towel heater which was a bonus for the homeowners. Another dream come true.

The 7 Steps of Your Remodel
You’ve been thinking about your remodeling project for a long time and you’re ready to begin. Excellent. It’s going to be great!
We pride ourselves on consistent, stand-out, and matchless work that you’ll be proud to show your family and friends. Here’s what you can expect regardless of the project:
1. Define your remodel needs. It is so important to clearly understand the underlying motive for the change so that the desired outcome is realized. Sometimes, if a good discussion with your contractor doesn’t happen in the beginning, what you get may be what the contractor heard you say, but may not be at all what you really meant to say or actually wanted. Clear, precise communication and understanding is the key to happiness for all.
2. Plan out your ideas. We will draw the design pictures with you, go with you to pick out materials, and offer guidance as to what will and won’t work for you.
3. Order the materials. We order, follow-up, and expedite shipping and delivery to coordinate with your job start-date. This is crucial and we are very good at it.
4. Demolition! This can be fun for the workers, but it’s only fun for you if we’ve coordinated the haulers and facilities to remove all the debris each day to leave your home as clean as possible. Again, we are very good at this.
5. Rough-in. We install the plumbing and electrical and anything else that might go behind the drywall. The excitement is building as you can begin to see the new project take shape.
6. Finish. Install drywall and apply the paint. Install fixtures such as lighting, sink or tub faucets, toilets, tile, or showers. This is F U N.
7. Completion. We do a final walk through together reviewing our initial discussion and looking for any last touch-up needs before cleaning up one last time and saying good-bye…until next time.
